Our
silent heroes;
In
our ranks we have a group of men who quietly guard our assets. These men are dedicated Brothers who care
enough about us to be responsible in management of the funds. Each council has
only one yet this one man is responsible for the caring and logging of our
assets. This man is our Financial Secretary. He alone must carry the burden of
the audit of the funds, he alone must complete the information needed for
supreme to disseminate the final figures for National distribution in our
Columbia magazine and he alone must answer to the accuracy of the books.
This
silent hero is a Brother who shows his love for the Order with many hours per
month of extra effort, and all with no complaints. Yet we have Brothers who
become Knights and don’t show up at meetings altogether. I salute our Financial
Secretaries and their regular dedication to maintain our checks and balances.
Like our Field Agents these Secretaries do the job when others are not even
thinking of the Brotherhood. A special thanks to our very responsible Catholic
Gentlemen who carry this position, and monitor our financial needs. There is a
special place in Heaven for our Financial Secretaries with no pencils and no
erasers.
